Director Karl Lindevaldsen will be holding auditions for the feel good musical smash, Sister Act, August 2nd-4th at 6:30PM (see below for details!) 

 

Based on the hit 1992 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, with music by Alan Menken (Beauty and The Beast, Newsies, Little Shop of Horrors,) Sister Act is filled with rousing gospel music and energetic dancing! When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be found: a convent. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church. Sister Act will leave audiences breathless! A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is a show that makes everyone stand up and cheer!

 

Auditions will be on Sunday August 2nd & Monday August 3rd at 6:30PM at Little Town Players, and callbacks on Tuesday August 4th at 6:30PM at Bedford Central Library in the Bedford Room. Cast Breakdown

Deloris Van Cartier - An aspiring performer trying to find both fame and a place in this world. When forced to hide in the convent, she initially refuses to embrace her new lifestyle but learns to embrace it when she works with the choir. Loud mouth and sassy, but ultimately caring.

Gender: Female | Age: 25 to 40 | Vocal range; E3 - F#5 - Mezzo Soprano

 

Mother Superior - Head of the convent, sarcastic, and a bit stiff. Extremely protective about keeping her sisters away from the outside world, putting her at odds with Deloris and her musical teachings. 

Gender: Female | Age: 30 to 70 | Vocal range: D3 - E5 - Mezzo Soprano

 

Sister Mary Robert - A postulant, abandoned as a baby and raised at the convent. Shy and soft-spoken, but singing with Deloris lets her find her voice. Her wallflower lifestyle has 

made her live a shell of a life.

Sister Mary Patrick - A nun of the convent, Consistently perky, enthusiastic, and easily

excitable.

Gender: Female | Age: 20 to 50 | Vocal range: E3 - E6 - Soprano

 

Sister Mary Lazarus - A nun of the convent, dry and sarcastic.

Gender: Female | Age: 40 - 60 | Vocal range: F3 - B4 - Alto

 

Monsignor O'Hara - Constantly concerned with financial matters. Loves soul music.

Gender: Male | Age 35 to 70 | Vocal range: E3 - G4 - Baritone

 

Curtis - A club owner, notorious gangster, and Deloris's boyfriend. Cocky, controlling and dangerous. 

Gender: Male | Age 30 to 50 | Vocal range: A2 - Ab4 - High Baritone

 

Eddie Souther - A policeman and a high school class mate of Deloris who helps hide her. He yearns for Deloris and dreams of being her hero.

TJ - Curtis's nephew and one of his thugs. Constantly in a state of ignorant bliss.

Joey - One of Curtis's thugs. Believes he is quite the ladies man.

Gender: Male | Age 25 to 40 | Vocal range: Bb2 - Eb5 - Tenor

 

Pablo - One of Curtis's thugs. A natural follower. Speaks constantly in Spanish.

Gender: Male | Age 25 to 55 | Vocal range: C4 - F5 - Tenor

 

Michelle - One of Deloris's backup singers. Always quick with a retort.

Gender: Female | Age 20 to 40 | Vocal range: Bb3 - F5 - Mezzo Soprano

 

Tina - One of Deloris's backup singers. A little naive.

Gender: Female | Age 20 to 40 | Vocal range: Ab3 - F5 - Mezzo Soprano

 

Sister Mary Martin of Tours - A nun who is in her own world, but has moments of clarity.

Gender: Female | Age 35 to 60 |

 

Sister Mary Theresa - An older nun who is spunky.

Gender: Female | Age 40 to 70 |

 

Ernie - One of Curtis's thugs.

Gender: Male | Age 25 to 40 |
